Implementation of an Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS) for the Cyprus Tax Department of the Ministry of Finance

NetU Group has been awarded the contract for the implementation, maintenance and operation of an Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS).

Following an open tender procedure, NetU, in consortium with DataTorque Limited, has been awarded the contract for the implementation, maintenance and operation of an Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS) for the Tax Department of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Cyprus.

The project for the implementation of ITAS is part of a comprehensive reform and modernization process that will put the Tax Department in a position to improve revenue management by means of improved tax collection, the facilitation of voluntary compliance and improved taxpayer education, by providing advanced digital services, reducing processing times and simplifying procedures. At the completion of this large-scale digital transformation project, the Tax Department will be able to achieve several strategic objectives, empowering its staff with modern tools to accomplish their tasks, based on best practices and innovative technologies.

The contract was signed in October 2020 and the implementation of the system is expected to be completed within 36 months. The implementation of the system will be in phases, in order to obtain the earliest possible benefits for both the Tax Department and the taxpayers. The contract value of the project is €24,562,471 excl. VAT, establishing it as one of the largest IT projects ever undertaken in Cyprus.
